Raffles Christian School Celebrates 20th Anniversary with MURI Record and Cultural Showcase
Jakarta, October 25, 2025 — Raffles Christian School proudly celebrated its 20th anniversary with a remarkable blend of record-breaking achievement and cultural festivity that united its community across Jakarta.
In collaboration with the Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia (MURI), Raffles Christian School achieved a national record for “Writing and Drawing Impressions about Indonesia by the Most Students and Parents.” The MURI event was held simultaneously across all Raffles campuses — Pondok Indah (South Jakarta), Kebon Jeruk (West Jakarta), and Kelapa Gading (North Jakarta) — engaging more than 1,500 participants from the Raffles community in a creative celebration of Indonesia’s beauty and diversity.
The celebration culminated on October 25, 2025, with the Performing Arts Show: “An Afternoon of Music, Culture, and Tradition” at Universitas Bunda Mulia, Ancol. Over 1,000 guests attended, including founders, partners, parents, teachers, non-teaching staff, and well-wishers.
The event was graced by members of the founders’ families — Mr. Edwin Soeryadjaya and his daughter, Ms. Michelle Soeryadjaya; Ibu Ria Prawiro and family; Board Members Mr. and Mrs. Darmawan Boedi Soetrisno; Mr. Husni Heron; Mr. Abraham Hidayat; and others — whose continued support and vision have been instrumental in the school’s growth and enduring legacy.
Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Gary Tan, Director of Raffles Group of Schools, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the entire Raffles community for two decades of dedication, excellence, and faith.
The program featured 300 student performers from all campuses, showcasing Indonesia’s diverse heritage through music, dance, and musicals. The celebration also marked the launch of the Raffles Christian School Song, symbolizing the school’s core values — To Learn, To Lead, To Love.
During the MURI Awarding Ceremony, Raffles Christian School was formally recognized for its outstanding record achievement. The award was presented to Mr. Gary Tan and Mr. Edwin Soeryadjaya by representatives from MURI Indonesia.
As part of the school’s commitment to community service, donations were also presented to four partner foundations — Sea Soldiers Foundation, Habitat for Humanity Indonesia, Yayasan Kasih Anak Kanker Indonesia (YKAKI), and Wahana Visi Indonesia — reaffirming Raffles Christian School’s mission to nurture compassion and social responsibility.
In his statement, Mr. Elpidio R. Batiles, Dean of Raffles Christian School Pondok Indah and event PIC, expressed his gratitude to all who made the milestone possible, saying, “This 20th year is a celebration of our shared journey — one that continues to inspire learning, leadership, and love.”
With 20 years of dedication to holistic education, Raffles Christian School continues to shape young minds to serve, lead, and make a difference — for Indonesia and beyond.
